Senior Full Stack Engineer

EngineeringRemoteFull-time
$160,000 - $210,000 + Equity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer who thinks in systems, not just features. In this role, you will be the primary technical owner for one of our key enterprise engagements. You won't just be ticket-taking; you will be architecting solutions, debating trade-offs with product managers, and mentoring junior engineers. We value code that is boring, predictable, and maintainable over clever hacks. You will spend 60% of your time coding, 20% on architecture/design, and 20% on code review and mentorship.

About the Team

The Engineering team at Storecode is a flat, high-trust organization. We don't have project managers chasing you for status updates; we expect you to communicate proactively. We ship to production daily, use feature flags extensively, and believe that typing is the bottleneck, not thinking (hence, we write a lot of design docs).

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and build comprehensive full-stack solutions using Next.js, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
  • Lead code reviews and enforce high standards for code quality and test coverage.
  • Interface directly with client technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specs.
  • Optimize application performance, targeting sub-100ms response times for critical paths.
  • Debug complex distributed system issues across our microservices architecture.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience shipping production-grade software.
  • Deep proficiency with TypeScript, React, and server-side Node.js.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or AWS cdk) is a strong plus.
  • A pragmatic approach to testing—you know when to write unit tests vs integration tests.
  • Excellent written communication skills (we are a remote-async culture).

Benefits

  • Competitive salary ($160k-$210k) and meaningful equity stake.
  • 100% remote-first culture.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance (100% premium coverage for employees).
  • $2,500 annual learning and development budget.
  • 401(k) matching up to 4%.
